ADVANCED CANADIAN NURSING
REVIEW PROGRAM
FOR INTERNATIONALLY EDUCATED NURSES (IENs)
INTRODUCTION
The Advanced Canadian Nursing Program for IENs is a professional development and up-skilling program designed for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) with at least 2 years of nursing experience who want to work as a registered nurse in Canada. This program is designed for professionals who have training and education within countries that share a similar framework of nursing responsibilities and duties to Canadian standards.
We invite IENs who meet our eligibility requirements to join us at our Campus in North York, Ontario Canada for a nursing program focused on training EINs to complete all the required steps to meet the educational, professional, and legal requirements to work as a licensed nurse (RN / LPN) in Canada.

Our program also includes a clinical placement that will set you up with the confidence and skills to ensure you are fully job-ready as a registered nurse in Canada.

Medical Terminology and Healthcare Communication
An English language and professional development module designed for IENs to ensure English fluency in the nursing and medical field.

Nursing Review
A professional development module designed to to help IENs update their nursing skills according to Canadian guidelines and to maintain their profession in the nursing field in Canada.

CELBAN/IELTS Exam Preparation
An English language exam preparation module designed to maximize the IENs English competency test score which is required for Nurse registration in Canada.

Nursing Registration Exam Preparation
An exam preparation module focused on preparing IENs for their nursing registration exam including exam preparation strategies, study tips, and practice questions to help participants feel more confident and prepared for their licensing exams.

Jurisprudence Exam Preparation
An exam preparation module focused on preparing IENs for their jurisprudence exam which test a nurse's knowledge of the laws, regulations, and ethical standards that govern nursing practice in a specific Canadian province..

Clinical Placement
A professional development module that allows IENs to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other healthcare professional.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students must satisfy ALL of the following:

Nursing Degree or Nursing Diploma

Must be registered as a nurse in their home country

Minimum 2 years of work experience within the past 5 years.

Pass an interview with a TEMC Advisor
ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS
Students must satisfy BOTH of the following:

Nursing qualifications delivered in English from a country with English as the official language

Nursing experience in a country where English is the official language

Receive conditional offer letter within 5 business days (if all admission requirements are met)

Pay course deposit fee outlined in the offer letter, meet any conditions

Sign the enrollment contract and review the student handbook and policy statements

Receive Letter of Acceptance within 5 business days (if all conditions of the offer letter are met)

Apply for study visa (payment of the full semester fee is recommended for students to have the highest success rates for their visa acceptance)

Can I work while studying with TEMC?
Yes. TEMC is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) under the International Student Program (ISP) approved by the Government of Canada. International students enrolled in our Canadian Nursing Review Program for IENs are eligible to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during studies, and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks, without a work permit.

Can I bring by partner / spouse / children with me?
In the past, students have been able to bring their families. However, it should be noted that not all IENs are automatically eligible to do so. In some circumstances, it may be recommended for IENs to come to Canada on their own and bring their families permanently when the time is right. We recommend IENs to consult with a licensed immigration consultant.

Where is TEMC Located?
TEMC's campus is located in North York, Ontario. A vibrant and diverse community suburb of Toronto with a wide range of cultural and recreational activities, as well as easy access to transportation, healthcare, and offers a high quality of life for its residents. The area is known for its beautiful parks and diverse neighbourhoods that offer something for everyone.

What happens if my visa gets refused?
Nursing review program visas for IENs typically have a significantly high approval rate. Nevertheless, in the event that a visa is denied, we urge all applicants to carefully review the Refusal Letter to identify the grounds for rejection and consider reapplying. It's not uncommon for students to attain visa approval on their second attempt.

What is the National Nursing Assessment Services?
The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) provides a streamlined assessment service for IENs interested in applying to be a registered nurse in Canada. What is the CELBAN English Exam?
CELBAN is known internationally as a unique nursing specific-purpose language exam, and is informed by nursing and language testing professionals. CELBAN reflects authentic nursing communication and evaluates English language proficiency in listening, writing, reading and speaking.

Can I take an IELTS exam instead of CLBAN Exam?
YES. IENs can take the IELTS exam without needed to take the CLBAN exam. As of January 2023, both IELTS (general) and IELTS (academic) are both accepted English language exams. Please note the IELTS exam will only be accepted when written within two years prior to applying for registration

What is the NCLEX-RN exam?
The NCLEX-RN exam is a standardized test that is used to determine whether an individual is qualified to become a registered nurse (RN) in the United States and Canada.

What is the REX-PN exam?
The Regulatory Exam – Practical Nurse (REx-PN™) is an entry-to-practice exam for those applying to become a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario

What happens if I fail the Nursing Registration exam (NCLEX-RN or REX-PN) ?
There is no limit to the number of times you can write the Registration until you pass. You can take the exam once in any 45-day period (up to a maximum of 8 times per year).

Is this program a diploma or certificate course?
The Canadian Nursing Review Program for IENs is a Professional Development and Up-skilling program designed for IENS with existing qualifications and work experience to maintain their nursing profession and become eligible to work as a licensed nurse in Canada. The program is not subject to the provisions of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Will I get a refund if my visa gets rejected?
Yes. If your visa is rejected and you decide not to pursue a resubmission, you will receive a refund of your tuition and fees. The amount refunded is determined based on the Tuition Refund Policy outlined in our student handbook.

Is your college approved for PGWP?
Although the TEMC is not designated for the PGWP program, international students who complete the nursing review course and become registered nurses in Canada may be eligible to stay and work in Canada under other work permit programs, such as the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the International Mobility Program, or a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These programs allow international students who have graduated from non-designated institutions to apply for a work permit and gain valuable Canadian work experience. Students should research and understand the eligibility criteria for various work permit programs and consult with a qualified immigration lawyer or consultant to determine their eligibility and ensure that they follow the correct application process.
